Task reflections

        When I was doing this task, I enjoyed traveling to different locations around my neighborhood. I got to learn more about the history of my neighborhood and also the locations of several landmarks. I also enjoyed interviewing a few people although it did not yield much results as most people I interviewed rarely pay attention to their surroundings. Even people who work at that place! I also enjoyed
        I could not find some of the pictures of the landmarks during the past and some people did not allow me to interview them. It was also really hard to get information about the landmark.  If I had the chance to do this again, I would try to do more research on the landmark first, before going there instead of immediately rushing out and almost getting lost. I would also try to take more pictures and videos as I did not have enough good pictures and videos to put on the blog.

Ang Mo Kio bus Interchange.

Old AMK Bus Interchange:

The original bus interchange was opened in April 1983 as Ang Mo Kio New Town slowly expanded since the late 1970s. Buses originally berthed at elongated bus stops outside Blk 322 along Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, which is right opposite the present-day Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange. Feeder service 269 was inaugrated together with the opening of this interchange.

New AMK Bus Interchange:

The interchange is presently within AMK Hub, a newly-built shopping centre which is in turn linked to the Ang Mo Kio MRT Station via a pedestrian underpass below Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.

The interchange is the third to be fully air-conditioned in Singapore after the Toa Payoh Bus Interchange and the Sengkang Bus Interchange, and similarly features automated sliding doors at each of its six berths that will open only when the bus reaches the berths.

Jubilee Complex:

Old Jubilee:

Originally a 1 theater cinema known as Jubilee theater located at 61 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.

New Jubilee:

A shopping mall which still houses a small theater. Located at the same place opposite AMK MRT station. It is currently undergoing renovation works.

Ang Mo Kio Community Library was officially opened on 17 August 1985 by Yeo Toon Chia, then-Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC, and was opened to the public on 19 August. The library was closed in March 2002 for upgrading, and was officially reopened on 5 January 2003 by Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of State for National Development. It is located along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6

New AMK library:

Located at the same place within walking distance of both Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang MRT Stations, it serves the residents of the surrounding Ang Mo Kio GRC. A standalone two storey building.
